This Privacy Policy explains how SpotPrivate collects, uses, and shares information when you use SpotPrivate.com and related private-dining services.
Information we collect
We may collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, phone number, event date, party size, budget, event type, room preferences, messages, venue-account information, and other details you include in an event request or venue response.
We also collect technical and usage information such as pages viewed, device/browser information, approximate location derived from network information, referral source, interactions with site features, and diagnostic information.
How we use information
We use information to operate SpotPrivate, match guests with private dining spaces, route and manage venue inquiries, relay guest/venue communications, maintain venue profiles, measure product performance, detect abuse, troubleshoot problems, and improve search and conversion.
How information is shared
When you ask SpotPrivate to contact a venue, we share the event and contact information reasonably necessary for that venue to respond. We also use service providers that help us host the service, authenticate users, send email, store data, monitor performance, and analyze product usage. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of SpotPrivate, our users, or others.
Sign in with Google
If you choose Continue with Google, Google shares your name, email address, whether Google has verified that email, and your profile picture with SpotPrivate. We use them only to sign you in, find your account and requests by email, and show your name in your account menu. We do not receive your Google password, contacts, calendar or any other Google data. We do not sell this information or use it for advertising, and we share it only with the service providers that host SpotPrivate. SpotPrivate's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
AI assistants
If you use SpotPrivate from an AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude, we receive only what the assistant sends to make your request: your name, email, optional phone, event details and room choices. We do not receive your conversation. Nothing is sent to a restaurant until you confirm by email.
City price guide emails
If you ask for a city's private dining price guide, we keep your email address, the city, the page you signed up on, the event month if you chose one, the wording you agreed to and when you signed up. We use them to send that guide and occasional updates about private dining in that city, such as new rooms. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe. Once you unsubscribe, we keep a record that you did so we don't email you again.
Text messages
Restaurants can choose to get SpotPrivate text alerts about new event requests (see Text alerts). We keep the mobile number, the name of the person who agreed, how and when they agreed and the wording they agreed to, and every text sent or received with its delivery status. We use them only to send those alerts and to record replies. We do not sell, rent or share mobile numbers or text opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing. Texts are delivered by our messaging provider, Twilio. Reply STOP to any text to opt out.
Analytics and session tools
SpotPrivate uses analytics and product-observation tools, including Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, to understand traffic, engagement, navigation, and product friction. These providers may receive technical identifiers and usage information according to their own terms and privacy practices.
Cookies and similar technologies
SpotPrivate and its service providers may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for authentication, analytics, security, and product functionality.
Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain business and transaction records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal or operational requirements. Retention periods may vary by data type.
Your choices
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with you, subject to legal and operational exceptions. You may also use browser controls to limit cookies and may opt out of nonessential communications where an unsubscribe mechanism is provided.
California and other U.S. privacy rights
Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have additional rights regarding access, correction, deletion, or use of personal information. We will respond to verified requests as required by applicable law.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
