Text alerts for restaurants
SpotPrivate texts a restaurant's events contact when a guest sends a private-event request for that restaurant, so they can answer quickly. Texts go only to a person who has agreed to receive them. We never send marketing texts.
How restaurants opt in
On the venue page. A restaurant's owner or manager, signed in to their SpotPrivate venue page, enters a mobile number and ticks a box (unticked until they tick it) beside this wording: "I agree to receive texts from SpotPrivate about event requests for {Venue}. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out." Then they click "Turn on text alerts".
On a phone call. When SpotPrivate calls a restaurant, we read the same wording to the events contact and ask whether they agree. We record their name, number, the time, and the exact wording they agreed to.
What we send
One text for each new event request for that restaurant, and up to three short reminders when a request is still waiting for an answer. Message frequency varies with how many requests the restaurant gets. Example: "SpotPrivate: Sarah, party of 12, Oct 24, about $3,000 wants The Library. Tap to answer: https://spotprivate.com/t/abc123. Reply STOP to opt out."
Replies, help and stopping
Reply YES or NO to answer the request. Reply STOP at any time to stop all texts; reply START to turn them back on. Reply HELP for help, or email rebecca@spotprivate.com. Owners can also turn text alerts off on their venue page. Msg & data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy
